Constructive Equivalence Relations on Computable Probability Measures

چکیده
A central object of study in the field of algorithmic randomness are notions of randomness for sequences, i.e., infinite sequences of zeros and ones. These notions are usually defined with respect to the uniform measure on the set of all sequences, but extend canonically to other computable probability measures. This way each notion of randomness induces an equivalence relation on the computable probability measures where two measures are equivalent if they have the same set of random sequences. In what follows, we study the equivalence relations induced by Martin-Löf randomness, computable randomness, Schnorr randomness and Kurtz randomness, together with the relations of equivalence and consistency from probability theory. We show that all these relations coincide when restricted to the class of computable strongly positive generalized Bernoulli measures. For the case of arbitrary computable measures, we obtain a complete and somewhat surprising picture of the implications between these relations that hold in general.

Effective Randomness for Computable Probability Measures
Any notion of effective randomness that is defined with respect to arbitrary computable probability measures canonically induces an equivalence relation on such measures for which two measures are considered equivalent if their respective classes of random elements coincide. Elaborating on work of Bienvenu [1], we determine all the implications that hold between the equivalence relations induce...

متن کاملEquivalence Relations That Are Σ03 Complete for Computable Reducibility - (Extended Abstract)
Let E,F be equivalence relations on N. We say that E is computably reducible to F , written E ≤ F , if there is a computable function p : N→ N such that xEy ↔ p(x)Fp(y). We show that several natural Σ 3 equivalence relations are in fact Σ 3 complete for this reducibility. Firstly, we show that one-one equivalence of computably enumerable sets, as an equivalence relation on indices, is Σ 3 compl...
متن کاملComputability of invariant measures: two counter-examples
We are interested in the computability of the invariant measures in a computable dynamical system. We construct two counter-examples. The first one has a unique SRB measure, which is not computable. The second one has no computable invariant measure at all. The systems are topological, i.e. continuous transformations on compact spaces, so they admit invariant measures. A topological dynamical s...
متن کاملFinitary Reducibility on Equivalence Relations
We introduce the notion of finitary computable reducibility on equivalence relations on the domain ω. This is a weakening of the usual notion of computable reducibility, and we show it to be distinct in several ways. In particular, whereas no equivalence relation can be Π n+2-complete under computable reducibility, we show that, for every n, there does exist a natural equivalence relation which...
